If your team wants a wiki that Claude, ChatGPT and Codex can read and write too, eight tools are worth a look: LotsNotes, Notion, Slite, Perfect Wiki, Guru, Confluence, Outline and Nuclino. All eight have a hosted or built-in MCP server. They differ in price per member, in which plan unlocks MCP, and in how an agent signs in. Confluence is free for up to 10 users and Outline is a flat $10 a month for up to 10 members, so a small team does not have to pay much. I opened each vendor's own pricing and MCP pages on 24 October 2026.

I run LotsTech's agents from LotsNotes, so I'll say this up front: LotsNotes is shared context for agents, not a full wiki with page trees and per-page permissions. Whether that is enough depends on your team, and the list below says where each tool fits.

## 1. LotsNotes: shared context for every agent your team uses

LotsNotes is where you write what your business knows once: what you sell, who it is for, how you sound, your rules and your decisions. It sits in a workspace with folders that nest, and Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor read the same current notes at `https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp`, signing in with OAuth. Cloud agents and scripts use the REST API with a key. People edit the same notes in the dashboard, so the dashboard does the whole job too.

- **What it is not.** It is a set of Markdown notes and checklists in workspaces and folders, not a page-tree wiki with rich embeds, databases or per-page permissions. Agents find notes by title and read the ones they need, and it has no AI of its own: your agent does the thinking.
- **Built around how agents read.** Workspace notes come back with every folder's notes, and a note titled AGENTS.md is the instruction file agents read first.
- **Control.** Roles are owner, admin, member and viewer. Notes can be private, and private notes are never returned to agents or the API. Every save keeps a version you can restore, and your agent can invite teammates and change roles.
- **Price.** Free covers one person: 1 workspace, 3 folders, unlimited notes and checklists, MCP and REST. LotsNotes Pro is $99 once, for unlimited workspaces, folders and team members with roles, so a team of ten pays the same as a team of two. Pro is also included with a Pro or Business plan of seven LotsTech products, including LotsSocial, LotsBlog, LotsTeam and LotsCRM (see the [pricing page](https://lotsnotes.com/pricing) for the full list).

Choose LotsNotes if you are a founder, an agency or a small team that uses more than one agent and wants every one of them working from the same facts, without a monthly bill per person. Setup is on the [MCP page](https://lotsnotes.com/mcp).

## 2. Notion: the broad workspace

Notion's hosted MCP server at `https://mcp.notion.com/mcp` is available on every plan, Free included. Interactive agents sign in with OAuth. For a headless agent with no browser, a workspace owner creates an MCP token, and that needs Business ($20 per member a month) or Enterprise. Business also raises request limits and adds search across connected apps with Notion AI. Plus is $10 and yearly billing saves up to 20%. Guests cannot connect. Choose Notion if your team already runs docs, databases and projects there. For more on this one, see our [Notion MCP alternatives](https://lotsnotes.com/blog/notion-mcp-alternatives).

## 3. Slite: a team knowledge base

Slite's MCP server at `https://api.slite.com/mcp` signs in with OAuth, and its help center lists tools to search, read, create and update notes. Its pricing page lists "MCP and API access" on Basic ($10 per user a month, billed yearly); Pro is $20 and adds the Slite Agent. There is a 14-day trial and no free plan. Choose Slite if you want a clean team wiki with doc verification and your agents on the same pages.

## 4. Perfect Wiki: SOPs and FAQs for Microsoft Teams and Slack

Perfect Wiki says its MCP server is included in every plan, at `https://api.perfectwiki.xyz/mcp`. You sign in with OAuth 2.1, choose which knowledge bases to expose and pick read only or read and write. Basic is $12 per editor a month billed annually, readers are free and unlimited, and there is a 14-day trial with no card. Choose it if your wiki is mostly SOPs and FAQs that a team reads from inside Microsoft Teams or Slack, with few editors.

## 5. Guru: verified knowledge for larger companies

Guru's MCP server lets an agent ask a Knowledge Agent, search and read cards, create cards and draft edits. Every call respects the person's Guru permissions. Agents sign in with OAuth or a Bearer API token. Guru lists no public price and no plan for MCP; pricing is a package scoped on a call. Choose Guru if you need governance and verified answers across many sources. For the side-by-side, see [LotsNotes vs Guru](https://lotsnotes.com/blog/lotsnotes-vs-guru).

## 6. Confluence: the wiki most teams already know

Atlassian's remote MCP server covers Confluence alongside Jira and other Atlassian apps, with OAuth 2.1 and an optional API token. Atlassian's setup page states no plan requirement; usage draws on a shared pool of Rovo credits. The Free plan is for up to 10 users, and the pricing page lists Standard at about $5.78 and Premium at about $11.16 per user a month. Choose Confluence if you already use Jira or need Atlassian's permissions and spaces.

## 7. Outline: a clean wiki, hosted or self-hosted

Outline calls its MCP server built in. It connects at `https://<yoursubdomain>.getoutline.com/mcp` with OAuth or an API key, agents can search, read, create and edit documents, and an admin can switch it off under Settings. Cloud pricing is flat by team size: $10 a month for 1 to 10 members, $79 for 11 to 100, with 30 days free. You can also self-host. Choose Outline if you want a simple, fast wiki at a flat price for a small team.

## 8. Nuclino: a light wiki with a free plan

Nuclino's MCP server at `https://api.nuclino.com/mcp` is on all plans and signs in with OAuth 2.0, or an API key if your client has no OAuth. Agents can search, read, write, move items and comment, limited to what the connecting account can see. Free holds up to 50 items and 3 canvases; Starter is $6 and Business $10 per user a month billed yearly. Choose Nuclino if you want the simplest wiki for a small team and the 50-item Free plan is enough to start.

## Which one should you pick?

- **One person or a team that wants shared agent context at one price:** LotsNotes, $99 once for the team.
- **A small team on a tight budget:** Confluence Free (up to 10 users), Outline at $10 a month flat, or Nuclino Free. All three cost less than LotsNotes at first, and LotsNotes costs less than Outline from the tenth month on.
- **You already live in Notion or Atlassian:** stay there; the MCP is included.
- **SOPs for Microsoft Teams or Slack users:** Perfect Wiki.
- **Enterprise governance:** Guru, or Confluence.
- **Headless agents with no browser:** check the sign-in column. Notion needs Business for tokens; Outline, Nuclino, Guru, Confluence and Perfect Wiki offer a token or API key; LotsNotes uses a REST API key.

## FAQ

### What is the best team wiki software for teams using AI agents?
It depends on the team. Notion, Slite, Perfect Wiki, Confluence, Outline and Nuclino are full wikis with a hosted MCP server. LotsNotes is shared context rather than a full wiki, and fits teams that want every agent reading the same notes for one $99 payment.

### Is there a free team wiki with MCP?
Yes. Notion Free includes MCP, LotsNotes Free includes MCP and REST for one person, Nuclino Free includes it with a 50-item cap, and Confluence is free for up to 10 users, with no plan gate stated for Atlassian's MCP server. Checked on 24 October 2026.

### Which wikis let an agent connect without a browser sign-in?
Notion offers MCP tokens on Business and Enterprise. Outline, Nuclino, Guru, Confluence and Perfect Wiki list an API key or token. LotsNotes uses a REST API key.

### Do I pay per member for LotsNotes?
No. Pro is $99 once for unlimited team members with roles, and it is included with a Pro or Business plan of seven LotsTech products.

### Can agents write to these wikis, or only read?
All eight let an agent write as well as read (Guru through card drafts). Perfect Wiki lets you choose read only at connection time, and every tool applies the connected person's permissions.
