LotsNotes is free for one person: 1 workspace, 3 folders, unlimited notes and checklists, and full MCP and REST access for your AI agents. LotsNotes Pro is $99, paid once, for unlimited workspaces, folders and team members. If you already have a Pro or Business plan of LotsSocial, LotsBlog, LotsTeam, LotsCRM, LotsInvoice, LotsBusiness or LotsStore, Pro is included at no extra cost.

I priced LotsNotes this way because business context is something you write once and keep for years, so a monthly bill per person never made sense to me. Every number below comes from the live LotsTech catalogue and the LotsNotes plan code, checked on 15 October 2026 (the plans that include Pro, rechecked on 26 October 2026).

## LotsNotes pricing at a glance

| Option | Price | Workspaces | Folders | Team members | Notes | MCP and REST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Free** | $0 | 1 | 3 | Just you | Unlimited | Yes |
| **Pro, bought** | $99, pay once | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited, with roles | Unlimited | Yes |
| **Pro, included** | $0 extra | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited, with roles | Unlimited | Yes |

Pro is included while you hold an active Pro or Business plan of LotsSocial, LotsBlog, LotsTeam, LotsCRM, LotsInvoice, LotsBusiness or LotsStore, monthly or yearly. Starter plans, pay as you go, LotsMail and LotsLink don't include it.

There is no feature you unlock with Pro other than room: more workspaces, more folders and teammates. Agent access, private notes, version history and the AGENTS.md conventions work the same on Free.

## What Free includes

Free is the whole product for one person:

- **1 workspace.** A workspace is one business, team or area of work. It holds workspace-wide notes (every agent gets these with any folder) and folders.
- **3 folders in that workspace.** Folders can nest, and every folder counts toward the three, including one inside another. A common Free setup: `Marketing`, `Product`, `Agents`.
- **Unlimited notes and checklists.** No cap on how many notes you write or how long they are.
- **MCP and REST.** Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and your own scripts can read and write your notes over `https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp` or the REST API. No add-on, no key upgrade.
- **Private notes and version history.** Private notes stay on lotsnotes.com and are never sent to agents or the API. Every save keeps a version you can restore.

No card to sign up, and no credits to watch. Free doesn't run out.

What Free doesn't do is share: you can't invite anyone into a Free workspace, not even as a viewer. That is the line between Free and Pro.

## What LotsNotes Pro adds

Pro removes the three limits:

- **Unlimited workspaces.** One per business, client or brand, so an agency can keep each client's voice, rules and decisions apart.
- **Unlimited folders.** One per product, channel, agent or client, nested as deep as you like.
- **Unlimited team members, with roles.** Owners and admins manage members and folders, members edit shared notes in the folders they can open, and viewers read.

Pro costs $99, once. There is no monthly or yearly renewal and no per-seat charge.

### Teammates don't need their own Pro

Limits follow the workspace owner. If you have Pro, everyone you invite into your workspaces joins at no cost, whatever their own plan is. A teammate who wants a separate workspace of their own uses their own plan for that one: Free gives them one.

## Pro included with Lots plans

If you already use another Lots product on a Pro or Business plan, you have LotsNotes Pro. The plans that include it, at their prices on 26 October 2026:

| Product | Pro plan | Business plan |
|---|---|---|
| LotsSocial | $59 a month ($590 a year) | $149 a month ($1,490 a year) |
| LotsBlog | $69 a month ($690 a year) | $159 a month ($1,590 a year) |
| LotsTeam | $69 a month ($690 a year) | $159 a month ($1,590 a year) |
| LotsCRM | $29 a month ($290 a year) | $79 a month ($790 a year) |
| LotsInvoice | $29 a month ($290 a year) | $79 a month ($790 a year) |
| LotsBusiness | $59 a month ($390 a year) | $199 a month ($1,290 a year) |
| LotsStore | $29 a month ($290 a year) | $79 a month ($790 a year) |

Sign in to LotsNotes with the same email as your Lots account and Pro is there; there is nothing to redeem. Starter plans (LotsSocial $20, LotsBlog $24, LotsTeam $24, LotsCRM $12, LotsInvoice $12, LotsBusiness $19, LotsStore $12 a month) and pay as you go don't include it. LotsMail and LotsLink don't either.

This is the setup I run myself. Every agent that works on LotsTech marketing, from the blog operator to the social and research agents, reads its instructions, plan and handoff from LotsNotes, and my LotsNotes Pro comes with my LotsTeam plan.

## What happens when an included plan ends, or you're past Free limits

Nothing you made is hidden, locked or deleted. Your workspaces, folders, notes, version history and teammates all stay, and your agents keep reading and writing notes as before.

What changes is only creating more beyond the Free limits:

- **A new workspace** is blocked once you own one or more.
- **A new folder** is blocked in a workspace that already has three or more. Restoring a deleted folder counts as adding one.
- **Inviting or adding a teammate** is blocked, for any role.

So if your LotsCRM Pro ends while you have four workspaces and twelve folders, all of them keep working. You just can't add a fifth workspace, a thirteenth folder or another teammate until you buy Pro or pick up a qualifying plan again.

When you or your agent hit a limit, the error says which limit it is and links to the pricing page. If LotsNotes can't reach billing for a moment, your existing notes stay fully usable; only going past a Free limit waits until the check works, usually a minute later.

## What it costs a small team: LotsNotes vs per-member tools

Most notes and wiki tools charge per member, every month. Here is a five-person team for one year on the entry paid plans of two tools often used for shared knowledge, from their own pricing pages, checked on 15 October 2026 (yearly billing):

| Tool | Entry paid plan | Price | Five people, first year | Five people, second year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **LotsNotes** | Pro | $99 once | **$99** | **$0** |
| Notion | Plus | $10 per member a month | $600 | $600 |
| Slite | Basic | $10 per user a month | $600 | $600 |

Both include things LotsNotes doesn't do. Notion has databases, forms and sites (Notion AI is a trial on Plus), and a Free plan for individuals. Slite Basic includes its own AI search and answers, doc verification and MCP and API access. Compare the job you need done, not only the number. If the job is "every AI agent I use reads the same current business facts, and my team edits them", the price model is where the gap shows. The full side-by-side is in [LotsNotes vs Notion](https://lotsnotes.com/blog/lotsnotes-vs-notion).

## What you are not charged for

- **Seats.** Teammates in a Pro owner's workspaces are free.
- **Notes.** No cap on notes or checklists, on any plan.
- **Agent access.** MCP and REST come with Free. LotsNotes doesn't bill per tool call or per agent.
- **AI usage.** LotsNotes has no AI of its own to pay for. Your agent's provider (Anthropic, OpenAI and so on) bills its own usage.
- **Renewals.** Pro is one payment.
- **Credits.** LotsNotes doesn't use them, so there is no balance to top up.

## Check your plan and upgrade from your AI agent

Your agent can show where you stand, the same as the dashboard does. The LotsNotes MCP server has two plan tools:

- **`lotsnotes_get_plan`** shows your plan (Free or Pro), where Pro comes from (bought, or included with which Lots plan), the Free limits and your current use: workspaces you own, the most folders in one workspace, and team members.
- **`lotsnotes_create_checkout`** returns a checkout link for LotsNotes Pro. You open it and pay in your browser; the agent never sees card details. If Pro is already included with one of your plans, it tells you so instead of selling it to you twice.

When I ask my agent for my plan, `get_plan` comes back with `pro`, source `included`, and the plan it comes with, LotsTeam Pro Annual.

Prompts to copy:

- "What LotsNotes plan am I on, and how close am I to the Free limits?"
- "Do I already have LotsNotes Pro through one of my Lots plans?"
- "I want to invite two teammates to LotsNotes. Give me a checkout link for Pro."

Not connected yet? Add `https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp` as a remote MCP server and sign in. [How to connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor to LotsNotes](https://lotsnotes.com/blog/connect-claude-chatgpt-codex-cursor-to-lotsnotes) has the steps for each agent, and the [setup page](https://lotsnotes.com/mcp) has them too. Prefer REST? `GET /api/v1/lotsnotes/plan` and `POST /api/v1/lotsnotes/checkout` do the same ([API docs](https://api.lotsnotes.com/docs.md)).

## How to start

1. Sign up at [lotsnotes.com](https://lotsnotes.com). No card.
2. Write your workspace `AGENTS.md`: who you are, what you sell, your voice and rules.
3. Connect your agents and use your three folders for the areas they work in.
4. When you need a second workspace, a fourth folder or a teammate, buy Pro once on the [pricing page](https://lotsnotes.com/pricing), or check whether one of your Lots plans already includes it.
