LotsNotes help
How can we help?
Answers about LotsNotes. For anything else, visit support.lotsnotes.com. The same answers in Markdown: help.md.
What is LotsNotes?
A shared knowledge base for your business that your team and your AI agents read from. Keep workspace-wide notes for everything that applies everywhere, and folders (inside folders, too) for products, clients, brands or agents.
How do I connect my AI agent?
Agents with MCP (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor): add https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp as a remote connector and sign in with your Lots account. Cloud agents and your own code: give the agent https://api.lotsnotes.com/docs.md, then paste an API key you create at https://www.lotstech.com/api. Either way it can list your folders, find notes by title, and read or update shared notes.
Can I switch agents without losing context?
Yes. The context lives in LotsNotes, not in one agent or one computer. Connect a new agent and it reads the same notes, plans and rules the last one used.
Can agents see my private notes?
No. Private notes are visible only to you in LotsNotes and are never returned through MCP or the API. Shared notes follow your workspace roles.
What does Free include?
One workspace, three folders, unlimited notes and checklists, and MCP and API access, for one person.
What does LotsNotes Pro add?
Unlimited workspaces, folders and team members with roles, for $99 once. Pro is included while you have a Pro or Business plan on LotsSocial, LotsBlog, LotsTeam, LotsCRM, LotsInvoice, LotsBusiness or LotsStore.
Can I archive a workspace I no longer need?
Yes. Archive a workspace you no longer need; it stops counting toward your plan. The workspace owner archives it on the Workspace page. Nothing in it is deleted, and the owner can restore it for 30 days.
Is my data safe?
Your data is encrypted and backed up every night, with a locked copy at a separate provider, and we test our restores. You sign in with Google or an email code, so there's no account password to steal. You can export your data and delete your account at any time. Notes you mark private are never sent to AI agents or the API. How we protect it: www.lotstech.com/security
Is there an assistant in the dashboard?
Yes. Ask AI in the dashboard header opens it as a sidebar, and the full page is at https://agent.lotsnotes.com. It works with your own role, so it can only do what you can do. Anything that sends, deletes or involves a payment shows a Confirm card first, and it never pays for you: for Pro it gives you a link to pay in your browser.
How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT?
In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors > + Add > Add custom connector, enter https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp and sign in with your Lots account. In ChatGPT, go to Plugins > + > Add custom MCP server, enter the same address, choose OAuth, create it as a plugin, install it and sign in; adding a custom connector depends on your ChatGPT plan. Step-by-step guides: https://lotsnotes.com/mcp.
Can I undo an agent's edit?
Yes. Every changed save is kept in the note's version history for as long as the note exists, and you can restore any version. If a note changed somewhere else while you were editing it, LotsNotes asks before your save replaces it, and a failed save keeps your edits with Retry.
What happens when I delete a note?
It moves to Trash, where you can restore it, and stays there until it is deleted forever or the trash is emptied. Deleting forever is for the note's author or a workspace owner or admin.
How do I tell agents what to read first?
Create a note titled AGENTS.md in the workspace or in a folder and write your instructions for agents in it. Workspace notes come back with every lookup, and agents that follow the LotsNotes skill (https://lotsnotes.com/skill.md) read AGENTS.md first. You can also ask your agent to read it before it starts.
How do I see or disconnect agents?
The Workspace page lists Connected apps, with each app and when it was last used, and you can disconnect one everywhere from there. When you connect an agent you choose what it may do, and private notes are never sent to it.
