What OpenAI dots can do with LotsNotes

Once connected, OpenAI dots can:

The LotsNotes dashboard does the whole job too: write and organize notes, folders, workspaces and your team. Your agent for speed, the dashboard for control.

You need

Connect OpenAI dots to LotsNotes

  1. Create your LotsNotes API key

Sign in to the LotsTech API page and create an API key. Your dot will use it to access LotsNotes.

    https://www.lotstech.com/api
  2. Give your dot the API instructions

Ask your dot to use the REST API from its computer. Share the prompt below, then provide the key privately in the task environment, rather than in the conversation.

Use https://api.lotsnotes.com/docs to connect LotsNotes from your computer. Read the API reference, authenticate with my privately configured LOTSNOTES_API_KEY and list my LotsNotes workspaces. Never include the key in messages or logs.
  3. Give your dot the brief

Tell your dot what to work on in LotsNotes. For recurring work, put the brief in the dot’s instructions. Start with read-only requests, then let it make changes.

OpenAI dots and LotsNotes: questions

How do I connect OpenAI dots to LotsNotes?

Use the LotsNotes REST API from OpenAI dots’s computer. Create an API key at https://www.lotstech.com/api, configure it privately for the task and share https://api.lotsnotes.com/docs with your agent. Ask it for something read-only first.

Does LotsNotes include its own always-on agent?

Your dot handles the recurring work. This guide connects its computer to the LotsNotes REST API. LotsNotes holds your business context: notes organized in workspaces and folders and returns results to your dot.

Do I need an API key to use LotsNotes with OpenAI dots?

Yes. Create one at https://www.lotstech.com/api and keep it out of chats, logs and committed files. Where OpenAI dots offers sign-in, use that instead.

What does LotsNotes cost?

Current plans and prices are on https://lotsnotes.com/pricing. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate.

Can my agent read my private notes?

No. Private notes stay on lotsnotes.com and are never returned through MCP or the API. Shared notes follow your workspace roles.

Can my agent change or delete my notes?

Your agent can edit shared notes in the folders your role can edit, and it can trash or archive notes, delete a folder or, for a workspace you own, archive it. Notes and folders can be restored, a workspace you archive can be restored for 30 days, and every save keeps a version you can restore.

What stops two agents overwriting each other?

An agent can send the version it last read with a save. If the note changed since, the save is refused, and the agent reads it again and merges. Version history keeps every save either way.

Which folders can my agent see?

Your agent acts as you, with your role, so it sees only the workspaces and folders you can access. If you were given access to selected folders only, your agent sees those folders and no others.
