What Paperclip can do with LotsNotes

Once connected, Paperclip can:

The LotsNotes dashboard does the whole job too: write and organize notes, folders, workspaces and your team. Your agent for speed, the dashboard for control.

You need

Connect Paperclip to LotsNotes

  1. Create the LotsNotes connection

In your company’s Tools & Access, create a LotsNotes application and a remote HTTP connection. Use the hosted MCP URL below.

    https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp
  2. Store the key as a secret

Create a key at https://www.lotstech.com/api and save it as a Paperclip company secret. Attach a credential reference to the connection: header Authorization, prefix Bearer followed by a space. Keep the key out of plain connection configuration.

  3. Check the connection and load its tools

Run the connection health check and refresh its tool catalog. Enable the connection, review the discovered tools and approve the actions you want your agent to perform.

  4. Assign access to your agent

Create a tool profile containing the LotsNotes tools you need and bind it to the responsible agent. Ask that agent “List my LotsNotes workspaces” before giving it real work.

What to ask next

If something goes wrong

My agent cannot see LotsNotes tools
Check the connection is enabled, its tool catalog is refreshed, the required tools are allowed in a profile and that profile is bound to your agent.

Paperclip and LotsNotes: questions

How do I connect Paperclip to LotsNotes?

Follow the Paperclip setup above to add https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp. Configure your LotsNotes API key using the credential settings shown. Then ask “List my LotsNotes workspaces”.

Does adding Paperclip’s MCP server also add LotsNotes?

No. The two servers expose different tools. LotsNotes must be connected to the agent runtime or called through its REST API.

Do I need an API key to use LotsNotes with Paperclip?

Yes. Create one at https://www.lotstech.com/api and keep it out of chats, logs and committed files. Where Paperclip offers sign-in, use that instead.

What does LotsNotes cost?

Current plans and prices are on https://lotsnotes.com/pricing. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate.

Can my agent read my private notes?

No. Private notes stay on lotsnotes.com and are never returned through MCP or the API. Shared notes follow your workspace roles.

Can my agent change or delete my notes?

Your agent can edit shared notes in the folders your role can edit, and it can trash or archive notes, delete a folder or, for a workspace you own, archive it. Notes and folders can be restored, a workspace you archive can be restored for 30 days, and every save keeps a version you can restore.

What stops two agents overwriting each other?

An agent can send the version it last read with a save. If the note changed since, the save is refused, and the agent reads it again and merges. Version history keeps every save either way.

Which folders can my agent see?

Your agent acts as you, with your role, so it sees only the workspaces and folders you can access. If you were given access to selected folders only, your agent sees those folders and no others.

My agent cannot see LotsNotes tools

Check the connection is enabled, its tool catalog is refreshed, the required tools are allowed in a profile and that profile is bound to your agent.
