LotsNotes for ChatGPT

Give ChatGPT your business context with LotsNotes

LotsNotes for ChatGPT gives ChatGPT your business context: positioning, customers, pricing answers and rules, written once. ChatGPT reads and updates the shared notes over MCP from the AI agent you already use, and you write and organize them in the dashboard. Claude, Codex and your other agents read the same current notes.

Connect ChatGPT (web)

Works on ChatGPT plans that support custom MCP servers (developer mode). OpenAI offers full MCP, read and write, on Business, Enterprise and Edu; other plans may be limited to read-only tools.

  1. 1

Turn on developer mode: ChatGPT Settings, then Security and login (on Business, Enterprise or Edu: Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings). On Business, only admins and owners can turn it on.

  2. 2

Go to Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server. Name it LotsNotes, enter the server URL, choose OAuth, confirm the warning, then Create.

  3. 3

Install it and sign in with your Lots account, then in a new chat select LotsNotes from + then More, and ask. Workspace admins can also add it under Workspace settings, then Apps, then Create.

In the LotsNotes dashboard

  1. 1

Sign in at lotsnotes.com and open your workspace.

  2. 2

Write workspace notes for what applies everywhere, and add a folder per product, client or agent.

  3. 3

Mark a note shared to let connected agents read it, or private to keep it on lotsnotes.com only.

Ask your agent

“Read our AGENTS.md and the Marketing folder before you write anything.”

“Save this decision to the Product folder and send me the link.”

“Update the pricing FAQ note with today's change.”

Questions

Why not use ChatGPT memory or custom instructions?

Those belong to ChatGPT alone. LotsNotes is one source that ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Cursor and cloud agents all read, and you edit it directly on lotsnotes.com.

Do I need an API key to connect ChatGPT?

No. ChatGPT connects to https://api.lotsnotes.com/mcp and you sign in with your Lots account. API keys are only for cloud agents and your own code that use the REST API.

Can ChatGPT read my private notes?

No. Private notes stay on lotsnotes.com and are never returned through MCP or the API. Shared notes follow your workspace roles.

Can ChatGPT change my notes?

Yes, shared notes in folders your role can edit. Every save is kept in version history, so you can restore an earlier version, and each note the agent reads or saves comes back with its lotsnotes.com link for you to review.

What does it cost?

LotsNotes is free for one person: 1 workspace, 3 folders and unlimited notes. LotsNotes Pro is one payment of $99 for unlimited workspaces, folders and team members.
